To AI or not to AI?

Rina and I are besties. Seriously. We spend most of our waking time together outside of work. She is the nicest person on the planet, and there is no one I'd rather be with.
But when we disagree, boy oh boy, it's spectacular. I've blogged about it before. This time, it was over AI of all things.
AI has everyone's attention. I won't spiral into the pros and cons. It has its uses.
I just found a song on YouTube that I thought was amazing, only to learn it was AI-generated. That crushed me because I really liked his "voice".
On the flip side, there are kung-fu AI cats all over TikTok, and I get a kick out of them because I KNOW it's AI.
I've read several books lately that I knew where AI generated, and one even suggested writing a book in 2 days with ChatGPT.
Boy, that ticked me off.
So, when I asked the same platform to come up with a header for our website, I should have seen Rina coming. She is adamantly against using it.
"But it is SO good," I argued. "It has all the points I want to make, the art is terrific."
"It isn't real," she countered.
Ah, perspective. The very thing that made me angry about writing certainly applies to music and art. Where is the line? Is there a line?
We went back and forth, and this time, I had to bow to her wishes because I saw her point.
I wouldn't even consider using AI to help me write. I feel like that is cheating. And after reading several examples, it feels...soulless. The characters are flat, the story repetitive. But people are making real money uploading multiple books a day using it.
AI isn't going away. I've heard there is a movement against it, but anything that makes people fast cash is here to stay.
I posted the picture here...what are your thoughts? It has Brock, Isle, and Ranger. It's very movie poster-esque.
I'd read Isle of the Dark looking at it. Oh, and if you want to read Isle and Ranger's adventures, you can go here to dive in.
But I can't deny that if I was an artist, I'd feel the same rage I do now about the book thing. Is it a tool or a cheat?
I'm still on the fence.
