Hello, 2026!

2025 was a whirlwind. As I write this, I can barely remember much of it! Rina and I sat down and organized (finally!) and realized that we tripled our sales from 2024. True, we had two new releases, but Isle of the Dark is starting to make an impact in Colorado. People are looking for Rina now, recognizing her more and more. We worked multiple events over the holidays, and I had more people than I could count ask for her. ("You must be the MOM! Is Rina around?") She takes it in stride, and I don't think she has quite realized that she is growing in popularity. Rina is a quiet force, steadily creeping into homes and hearts. She is writing five, yes, five new books. We are collaborating for the first time on a project called '40 Going on 14'. I am writing my third book in the Rayne series, but really, just loving watching her soar.
We joined the Colorado Authors' League, hosted events, signed up for our first Comic Con (GULP), and I know we will triple our reach again. I can admit to the 3 people reading these blogs that we are scared to death. These events are HUGE financial commitments; there is a ton of driving, organizing, plotting, and frankly, guesswork involved. We even reached out to Todd Fahnestock for advice. (He is so lovely and supportive. If you don't have any of his books, they are great fun!)
Despite our fears, I try to focus on the song Daydream by Lily Meola. "If it makes you nervous, it's probably worth it." I hope so, Lily, I hope so.
As I write this, Rina is designing a new graphic for a giant sign we will order for upcoming shows. We were just shot down from multiple bookstores to be carried on their shelves. Frustrating, but on the flip side, we are doing a library event in March, just got in with a group of authors working events in coffee shops and breweries, and making our own way to impact the reading community. ( I could spiral down the wormhole again about bookstore snobbery but I will refrain. If we are good enough for Barnes and Noble digital, why aren't we good enough for your shelves local book place? Cough)
I'd like to say we will improve with blogging, but I would be lying. 2026 holds a lot of unknowns, but we are ready to take the plunge.
